I am still strangely fixated on this figure in the water, I think of my nephews at our cottage, myself spending my young summers in Muskoka and Hastings. I have powerful associations with the water, from almost drowning while sailing to the fact I swim beneath it more comfortably than above. I can smell that life jacket, I wore one identical to it when I was that age, with a chubby little belly, pushing against the too tight ropes. I see my brother and I leaving the water to get shelter in the boathouse before a storm hits.
I'd like you to tell me what you see.
